What does it take to fuel a faith that burns bright, no matter what? At different times in our spiritual journey, we may discover that we’ve somehow developed apathy toward the things of God. Instead of being fueled by spiritual passion, our faith seems to be running on autopilot—or maybe sputtering to a halt as we seek excuses to avoid spiritual engagement. Through this six-week study, your eyes will be opened to the things that can undermine our interest in the things of God, and you’ll discover practical steps you can take to ignite a fire that will propel you toward a deeper, more meaningful faith. You noticed it too? The light steadily dimming all around you and the push against your faith becoming increasingly aggressive. You question how you are to follow Jesus in a world where you are constantly surrounded by temptation. You wonder how you are to live on fire for God in the face of countless obstacles ready to extinguish your fire. If there is anyone best equipped to address these concerns, it is the prophet Elijah. He steps into Israelite history at a time when God's people are struggling with immoral leadership, widespread idol worship, and the greatest spiritual gap between themselves and God. Despite the dark and seemingly impossible circumstances, Elijah remains passionately bold about fulfilling God's purpose and mission. In Daughters of Fire, Christian author and speaker Christina Patterson takes readers on a journey through the life of Elijah. She shows women how to confidently and faithfully follow Jesus Christ in the face of growing temptation and in a world of spiritual decline. Now is not the time to allow our fire for God to sizzle out. Now is the time to conquer our fears, stand firm in our faith, and bravely accept our calling as God's Daughters of Fire. Christina Patterson is an author and speaker with a passion to encourage women in the love of Jesus Christ and the truth of God's Word. She holds her masters in Theology from Liberty University and is the founder and CEO of Beloved Women, Inc., a non-profit providing resources and community for women to truly know who they are in Christ: His Beloved. She is married to her college sweetheart and is a stay-at-home mom to their two young children.

God delivered Israel from Egyptian bondage to captivate them for Himself. In the arid wilderness He planned to reveal His nature and ways to them, but they drew back. How different are we today? Many confess the Lordship of Jesus and acknowledge His saving power, yet like Israel, they've drawn back. Rather than pursuing His heart they have cleaved to this world's form of worship-the worship of self. As a result we have changed the image of Jesus to be like us. Fire can alter these images. The fire we need is found in the Holiness of God. God is calling us to draw nearer still...to tremble on Mt. Zion...transformed to touch others.

You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth (John 4:2224). Jesus spoke these words to a Samaritan woman, but the author believes that they should be directed to Christians of all denominations. Jesus preceded these words by stating that the hour is coming when you will, neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father. Central to the prophecies is a return to Jerusalem from where the Father will be worshipped forever. Why would Jesus contradict the Father? Contradictions such as these were largely responsible for the author doubting the authenticity of the texts, or if the texts are authentic, then one must doubt the claims of Jesus being the prophesied Messiah. There were two key issues that the author sought to resolve separately: (1) Does Christianity truly follow the footsteps of Jesus of Nazareth, or did Rome invent its own Jesus, a man who never was? and (2) Was Jesus the prophesied Jewish mashiach of the kingly line of David? Other contentious issues would resolve from those two. Resulting from wide-ranging research, the author concluded that neither Christian precept was true. Believing in God and walking away from Christianity was his only choice.
